WHO WE ARE

This is a project dedicated to Land Stewardship, Education, Research and Sustainable Living.

Our vision is to be strong caretakers of the land as taught by native cultures around the world, where looking 7 Generations into the future is a daily occurrence.

Through the acts of demonstration and education to share what we have learned with others.

What is Permaculture

Permaculture is an approach to designing human settlements and perennial agricultural systems that mimic the relationships found in the natural ecologies. By designing our own environments and building increasingly self-sufficient human settlements in a way where one reduces society’s reliance on industrial systems of production and distribution which fundamentally and systematically are destroying Earth’s ecosystems.

Earthway Experience will be using Permaculture to enhance our site in Somartin as well as our home in Leksand Sweden. In addition to providing food for humans, we will be providing food and the proper environment for local birds and other wildlife.

Earthway Experience will bring people from all over Europe and the world to experience Transylvania and Swedens unique nature and culture. These people will come and experience our nature and take home a part of it in themselves. We hope to preserve  nature and to help our guests be able to preserve their our homes nature. We will also offer several educational experiences to help those that come to better be able to preserve our natural world.

Location

We are in the process of moving our Permaculture Center from Leksand Sweden to Somartin located in the Transylvania region of Romania.
Many say it is like traveling back in time over 100 years here in Transylvania.
Farmers still use horse and wagon and shepherds take their flocks of sheep into to fields on a daily basis.
Somartin is a saxon village of about 270 residents. We come to the properties several times a year and will make our full time move sometime in 2022.

We welcome visitors to our experiment, to look and learn and if you like to volunteer for a short stay or become an intern for a longer period of time.

If you are interested in receiving your Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) from our Study at Home course please contact us in the form below.
