We are a Retreat Center connected to the Hochoka Healing Center. We are helping to preserve and share the gift of Lakota Spirituality and Way of Life with People of All Races.
Lakota Spirituality is based on the world view that everything is One and that all Creation is related.
This is what the Lakota People mean by the phrase - Mi takuye Oyasin (all my relations).
Because the Lakota People always felt themselves to be a part of the Greater Whole, they never put themselves above any other part of Creaton.
In the Beginning all the different races were given their own way to pray to the Creator. However, a lot of people are suffering today because they have lost their Way. Even Lakota Spirituality is threatened because of fewer and fewer Lakota people speak their own language or participate in the old ceremonies.
In responce to this situation, Earthway Experience with the Hochoka Healing Center, are striving to preserve the sacred Lakota ceremonies and share them with all who are seeking a Way to pray.
The Inipi (Sweatlodge) Ceremony provides a sacred space for people to pray with their hearts to their Creator for help in their lives. It supplies a clearing of the mind and a breakdown of crystallized habits, so that a new approach to life is possible.
Anytime, someone arrives at the center needing to pray about a hardship in his life, an Inipi ceremony can be preformed, so that he/she can pray to his/her Creator for help.
In the true Lakota Tradition, there is NO fees for spiritual teachings or ceremonies.
